RROC’s purpose is to find quality homes for reptiles, amphibians, Invertebrates, and all other exotic animals that people can no longer care for. RROC also provides education for the public relating to exotic animals. RROC will take in any reptile, amphibian, arachnid, or other exotic animal that needs a new home and/or medical attention. We hope this site can provide a service of finding good homes, with good people for these amazing animals! For anyone unfamiliar with the term “Herp”, this term comes from the word herpetology and is used to include all reptiles and amphibians.

The Turtle lady has quite a few turtles needing homes before any more turtles are able to come into the rescue. Before heading to a pet shop think adoption firs…t. Aquariums can be expensive, however plastic storage bins, and stock tanks make perfect enclosures for your semi- aquatic friends. Illinois law states that you cannot own more than 8 native species or herps and no more than 4 of the same species. Illinois law also states that it is illegal to propagate any native herps. Turtle Adoption & Turtle Rescue

The parents give in and buy their children this new pet. Hoping that their children will learn responsibility. The children are ‘slacking off’ in their responsibilities. This goes on for awhile but now you are tired of taking care of this little pet. This is a very common theme among a lot of pet owners. It’s not as easy to give away a turtle as it is a dog or cat. Below are some links to sites that offer turtle adoptions. Read them carefully as not all sites accept red ear sliders. I have just gathered up sites that offer turtle adoption. Do the research and ask them of any questions you may have.
